About SoggyCraft
Old SoggyCraft
SoggyCraft began back in 2011. Then it was called Endercraft for a while but we decided to change it later. Not knowing much about coding or designing servers we used Hamachi as our way to join the world because it was the easiest way. During this time the server was more of a build your creations and blow up stuff. Later we decided that Hamachi was not good enough because we could only have 5 people on. Through a lot of research and struggle we figured out how to port forward our server and have as much people join as we wanted. Being younger this was a big challenge and actually caused our router to break because we did not know what we were doing. In late 2011 we began a bukkit server instead of a vanilla server. This was new to us and we spent hours add and testing new plugins. Soon the admins and the owners decided to make a new name. We joked around by calling it SoggyCraft and other weird names but eventually that name stuck and since then we call it SoggyCraft. Later on we decided to make a public server but no one joined. Through a lot of problems with the server we had many different servers off and on through out the last 4 years. Each server was a fresh new version with better performance and more fun. Having the server run on my laptop made lag a issue and leaving it up all the time wasn't always a option. Soon we found a extra laptop and used that as a 24/7 server. For the past year we have had the server running better and better and now the server is very fun and though it is much better than before it still has the same leaders, theme, and look as shown in the above 3 pictures. The newest photo shows the current spawn made near the end of 2016. With the server growing we decided a refresh to soggycraft spawn was needed. First we decided to dump the box design we had before. It didn't have much potential and we had used it for almost 3 years. We created a spawn that was a village theme surrounded by castle walls. Our goal was to make spawn larger and simple. We wanted a more strait forward design and server because a lot of people were not understanding things and asking questions. We added a town center that held all our warps to keep people from having to run around spawn searching for them. Server guides, info, and tutorials were placed at spawn and set up for people. Now when people first spawn they can read through and understand our server and when it is all about. Soggycraft has grown a lot and still has a ways to go.
